Bygone Voyages

Skipper Meggs and his crew have been venturing seawards now for eighteen years.

It all started back in 1990 when a small group of four like-minded fisherpersons became hell bent on not only catching fish but also having fun away from the stresses of modern day living. It was not so much an adventure but more like one of life’s memorable experiences.

Fishing out of the small coastal towns of Tathra and Bermagui off the continental shelf and Montague Island mixing it with yellowfin tuna, kingies and snapper was a real buzz whilst relaxing in a 3 bedroom townhouse complete with Turkish sauna, swimming pool, spa and BBQ facilities topped it off.

From the humble beginnings of incorporating a pentathlon of darts, snooker, golf, pool and beach fishing with a few simple rules, an itinerary and the “rastas” concept our exploits have become the stuff of legends.

  • Bygone Rules  ( 4 items )

A good trip had is one where the ground rules are laid out up front.

The F&RTS 10 Commandments have changed each year but have kept the crew on the straight and narrow every time and have paved the way for all the fun and frivolity that made the trips all that more memorable.

  • Bygone Diaries  ( 1 items )

Ok, so what happens when the F&RTS team get together for a week's fishing holiday?

Some of the highlights capable of being published are contained within this section.

Be sure to come back in early June to view the Weipa Diaries!
